This kit is a 300cm flexible stainless steel exhaust hose with an upgraded aluminium alloy muffler. It carries exhaust gas away from air diesel heaters, parking heaters and generators.
What does the muffler do? Its porous design and S-shaped pipe cut noise by 20% compared with the older muffler. The hose stretches and bends, so it follows awkward routes without straining the joints.
This Diesel heater exhaust pipe has a 25mm diameter and a 24mm muffler hole. The muffler measures 17.5 x 10 x 4cm. You get the hose, the muffler, 2 clamps and 2 screws in the box.
You get one 300cm stainless steel exhaust hose and one aluminium alloy muffler. Two clamps and two screws are also included. The hose has a 25mm diameter. The muffler has a 24mm hole and measures 17.5 x 10 x 4cm. The clamps fit up to a 3.3cm diameter.
The kit is sold by MaxEarn under model number 0405. The same Diesel heater exhaust pipe also comes in 60cm, 120cm, 200cm and 250cm lengths.
MaxEarn says the noise reduction is 20% higher than its old muffler. The muffler has a porous design that lowers airflow pressure. It also has an S-shaped pipe inside. This adds more points of acoustic resistance and slows the spread of sound waves.
Do buyers notice the difference? Mostly yes. Noise level was the most common topic in customer feedback with 13 mentions and all of them positive. One buyer said the sound went from a jet to a whisper. Another fitted it at the end of a 2m pipe and called the cut in noise serious. One buyer in France said it was no quieter than the original muffler.
It is a universal fit kit for most air diesel parking heaters. MaxEarn also lists it for crude oil parking heaters and auxiliary vehicle air heaters. The 24mm muffler is listed as a replacement for these Eberspacher models: Airtronic D2, D4, D4S, D1LC, D1LC Compact, D3LC, D3LC Compact and D5LC.
There is a catch. One customer said it does not suit the Eberspacher D2. Fit feedback was mixed overall with 4 positive and 3 negative mentions. Check your heater's exhaust outlet size against the 24mm muffler hole and the 25mm hose before you order. One buyer fitted it to a CDH heater with no trouble.
The hose is stainless steel and the muffler is aluminium alloy. Both resist heat and corrosion. MaxEarn describes the build as wear resistant and fully sealed with no leaks.
Does it cope with weather? One buyer reported it had stood up to the weather so far. Another ran it through a wall to the outside of a workshop and said it still works as designed. A buyer who compared it with the thin tinny muffler supplied with a budget Chinese heater said this one uses thicker metal.
It is a simple swap. Remove the old or damaged exhaust pipe. Connect the new hose and muffler to the heater. Then fasten both ends with the clamps and screws.
The hose is stretchable and bendable so you can shape it around your route. It lengthens and contracts by itself as the heater runs and stops. The muffler can also extend freely without putting stress on the pipe.
Can you cut it to length? You can but take care. One buyer found the internal diameter too small after cutting the hose. The ends fitted the silencer perfectly in their case.
Exhaust gases must always leave the vehicle or building. One reviewer warned that the kit is not safe for inside fitting. Keep the outlet outside and clear of vents and windows.
A narrowboat owner ran the hose from a generator in the well deck to divert gases away from open vents. A second buyer said the length was enough to stop fumes drifting back. A third used it to route a generator exhaust outside a garage. Plan your route so the outlet points away from any air intake.
Three points came up in reviews. A Belgian buyer found the muffler a bit heavy and said it creates more back pressure. They wondered whether this could increase soot build-up in the heater. This is a question rather than a confirmed fault. A narrowboat owner called the supplied clamps poor and swapped them for their own. Another buyer said it is a good silencer but not suited to a generator.
Ratings are still strong overall. The product scores 4.6 out of 5 from 266 ratings. 80% give five stars and 10% give four. Only 3% give one star.
